Bank Muscat, the flagship financial services provider in the Sultanate, as part of its commitment to sustainable social development, presented Braille Sense 2 laptops to 10 visually challenged students at Sultan Qaboos University in the presence of Dr Ali bin Soud al Bimani, Vice Chancellor of Sultan Qaboos University during the special needs students family gathering ceremony.
The bank's corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative is aimed at supporting the vision impaired youth to enhance skills and integrate with mainstream society. Raya bint Habib al Shukaili, Senior Regional Manager - South & Central Muscat branches, presented the customised laptops to the vision impaired youth at the ceremony attended by senior bank and university officials.
Raya al Shukaili, said: "Bank Muscat is delighted to extend a helping hand to the visually challenged youth to develop skills and improve their educational status. The special laptops will help the vision impaired students to enhance skills and gain independence. We are optimistic that this will encourage them to positively participate in the service of society and development of the country. Bank Muscat is committed to contributing towards sustainable development by working closely with local communities, especially the country's youth who represent the future of Oman, with the aim of improving and enhancing skills in a manner that contributes to national development."
Bank Muscat attaches great importance to sustainable development activities and is the first Omani bank to establish a full-fledged CSR department. Considered among core values, the CSR policy reflects the bank's concern and care for various segments of society.
