THE CITC Governor Dr. Abdulaziz Salem Al Rwais, accompanied with high-level delegation from CITC, visited Mobily data center at Al Malaga, Riyadh, and also visited Bayanat Co, Mobily subsidiary. The visit took place last April 18. Dr. Al Rwais was briefed on the latest advanced technologies adopted by Mobily to establish its data centers around the Kingdom and what these centers provide to support "Kingdom Vision 2030".
His delegation was received by Sulaiman Al Gwaiz, Chairman Of Mobily's Board Of Directors; Eng. Ahmed Aboudoma, Mobily Chief Executive Officer; Dr. Aqeel Al Aqeel, Bayanat General Manager; and a number of Mobily executive managers. They had a tour inside the building departments with a detailed explanation about all services and provided advanced technologies. Al Malaga Data Center, considered to be in first place in Asia and Middle East, and in 10th place internationally, holds Tier IV classification from Uptime Organization, which considered the highest international organization in data centers evaluation.
Eng. Aboudoma said "Mobily owns the biggest system of data and technology centers in the region, owns a synchronized 58 centers all over the Kingdom, which guarantee continuous operational service to all Mobily subscribers. These centers provide unprecedented advanced technologies, such as hosting big data, cloud computing, managed services, and IoT. These specific technologies are the required infrastructure to smart cities transformation in line with Vision 2030. Therefore, we are pleased to be a contributor in this technical transformation which is the government's aspiration."
Moreover, Mobily presented how data centers support Mobily's infrastructure, and its government and private business sector subscribers, in relation to billing services, customer service, operating systems, cloud computing services, managed services, and data hosting. I also presented its strong coverage that cover all populated areas, and explained FTTH coverage and other services in which Mobily can provide through secure and advanced technologies to government and private sector.
Mobily likewise discussed with the CITC governor many issues that serve the telecom and IT sector. Several future goals have been suggested that help in developing the sector in the region.
Dr. Al Rwais praised Mobily data centers during his visit and stressed the importance of providing advanced technologies that support National Transformation and Kingdom Vision 2030.
