Avid Apple consumers will have to wait until later next month to order the new iPhone X but etisalat announced on Friday that it will begin offering the new generation iPhone 8 starting Saturday, September 23, at all Etisalat stores in UAE.

The announcement comes shortly after Apple rolled out the iPhone 8 and the iPhone X in Cupertino, California, to much fanfare.

Khalid Al Khouly, Chief Consumer Officer at etisalat said in a statement on Friday: "Etisalat is excited that the much-anticipated iPhone will be available for customers in the UAE at the same time as their global counterparts."

He said that the unique "iPhone for Life" programme introduced last year for the first time in UAE will make it easier to upgrade to the new iPhones.

"Etisalat's smart pay offer on 12, 18 and 24 months contracts providing consumers flexibility while using the new features on these innovative devices on the country's fastest 4G LTE network," Al Khouly said.

Features

The iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus are a new generation of iPhones, etisalat said, featuring a new glass and aluminium design in three finishes - space grey, silver and a new gold - made with the most durable glass ever in a smartphone, Retina HD displays, A11 Bionic chip and is designed for the ultimate augmented experience.

The world's most popular camera gets even better and wireless charging brings a powerful new capability to iPhone.

iPhone 8 Plus features dual 12-megapixel cameras and introduces Portrait mode with Portrait Lighting, bringing dramatic studio lighting effects to iPhone - allowing customers to capture stunning portraits with a shallow depth of field effect in five different lighting styles. Pre-orders for iPhone X

Etisalat said that the iPhone X, the future of the smartphone, will be available to pre-order on October 27.

The iPhone X features a gorgeous all-glass design with a 5.8-inch Super Retina display, a11-bionic chip, wireless charging, an improved rear camera with dual optical image stabilisation and Face ID, enabled by the new TrueDepth camera.

Etisalat confirmed that its iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus customers subscribed to 'iPhone for life' programme will have the opportunity to enjoy a free upgrade to the new generation iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus devices after the completion of 12 months into the contract.

Subscription to the 'iPhone for life programme' is also available for all new customers purchasing the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus devices on 18- and 24-month smart pay offer.
