Ooredoo, one of the region's leading ICT providers, announced yesterday a partnership with Qatar cloud developer, Advanced Computing Company, to enable small businesses to drive their growth and competitiveness.
As part of the partnership, Ooredoo will host Advanced Computing cloud solutions, Amana, in the Ooredoo Data Centre. The Amana solutions are quick to deploy, easy to use, and can scale up.
As a result, Qatar's small businesses can gain the same capabilities as large enterprises, including real-time tracking of human resources, payroll, documents, timesheets, and customer relationship management.
With more than two-thirds of Qatar's small businesses using basic or minimal IT, according to a Qatar Development Bank report, experts expect the partnership to be "transformative."
Ooredoo Qatar CEO Waleed al-Sayed said, "Amana cloud solutions will enable Qatar's small businesses to drive their digital transformation and business competitiveness. As the leading small business technology vendor, Ooredoo is supporting small businesses by harnessing the power of the Ooredoo Data Centre and bringing market solutions from local Qatar technology companies."
Using Amana's customisable core modules, technology administrators can quickly deploy business services that manage day-to-day processes, and give employees self-service access using an internal web browser portal.
Sheikha Athba al-Thani, founder and CEO at Advanced Computing, said, "Qatar's thriving SME community needs to work in real time, and so requires technology to support its speedy business execution rather than slowing it down and acting as a financial burden on them.
"Often, SMEs lack the necessary IT infrastructure or skilled staff to develop this on their own. By partnering with Ooredoo, we're aiming for every small business in Qatar to adopt cloud solutions and this is only viable by leveraging Ooredoo's world class networks, facilities and support processes."
She added, "Using the cloud solutions, Qatar's SMEs can streamline operations and increase staff productivity while leveraging locally-developed and hosted digital tools to diversify revenue. In doing so, these SMEs grow their outsized ambitions to compete with larger enterprises without the burden of big technology investments."
