Ooredoo was the official telecommunications sponsor for the Global Dryland Alliance Founding Conference, exchanging Internet of Things best practices to enable global food security.
The Global Dryland Alliance is an international organisation that shares knowledge, assists in agricultural development, and provides mutual assistance in times of need. The conference, which was held yesterday, brought together 25 delegations to sign the founding treaty.
Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser al-Thani, Ooredoo Qatar's chief business officer, represented Ooredoo Qatar at the conference on behalf of the company's CEO Waleed al-Sayed.
Sheikh Nasser bin Hamad bin Nasser al-Thani, chief business officer, Ooredoo Qatar, said, "In the Internet of Things era, organisations are analysing data from billions of connected devices and sensors to make better business decisions. Agricultural stakeholders are analysing, data from soil sensors, ship and airplane locations, and drone videos to improve crop yields, enhance logistics, and make agriculture more sustainable."
