Chairman of the Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA) Prince Sultan bin Salman, who is also chairman of the Disabled Children's Association (DCA), honored Al-Jazirah Vehicles Agencies Co. (AJVA) for its continuous support to DCA. Prince Sultan presented a shield to Abdullah bin Fahd Alkredes, president of Al-Jazirah, at a ceremony held during DCA's 26th general assembly at its headquarters in Riyadh recently.

Prince Sultan commended the active participation of AJVA and other Saudi companies in translating the association's noble message into action. "This is because of their proper understanding about their social responsibility as well as their keenness in fulfilling them in the best possible manner. The DCA's role in making aware of the members of the society about the need to support the association's various activities is also significant," he said while attributing this to the tremendous response from the businessmen and private companies to come forward to support DCA's various activities. He specially thanked AJVA for supporting the association's programs during this year.

Alkredes said his company's support to DCA is part of its social responsibility toward the nation and its people. "If there are any people who deserve to be honored, they are none other than those who run DCA, especially its Chief Prince Sultan bin Salman. Their sincere efforts to serve this segment of our society is highly appreciable," he said.

It is noteworthy that AJVA, the Ford and Lincoln importer-dealer in Saudi Arabia, is extending support to several charity activities and government programs. It recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with state-owned Technical and Vocational Training Corporation (TVTC) to generate employment for 500 young Saudi jobseekers.
