Ooredoo has added 500 new 4G locations to its network in different governorates of the Sultanate, allowing even more customers to enjoy the Internet
Ooredoo is committed to becoming the Sultanate's data experience leaders by providing a high-speed network engineered to deliver great connectivity to customers across the country.
Digital experience
The company is set to transform digital experiences, with what they call the Supernet, planning to add another 500 4G locations by the first quarter of 2018, to cover 90 per cent of Oman's population.
Over the last two weeks, customers in Barka, Muttrah, Izki and Buraimi among others have been connected to fast Internet services delivered by state of the art technology. Customers can stay connected on the go and enjoy a faster digital experience, whether sharing on social media, video streaming, listening, chatting, snapping or working.
Best online service
"We want our customers to enjoy the very best online experiences no matter where they are. Our huge investment highlights the pioneering role we are playing in transforming the online landscape through a wide-variety of cutting-edge solutions," Feras bin Abdullah Al Sheikh, director of consumer sales at Ooredoo, said.
"Over the past few months and into quarter one of next year, we are working to add more than 1,000 new locations to give customers access to our 4G or 4G+ network. This is an unprecedented undertaking - in fact, it's the biggest upgrade in our history and we are already halfway through and plan to see over 100 new locations coming online each month," he added.
Expanding its network
While expanding its network in Muttrah, Ooredoo's teams got a first-hand look at the burgeoning waterfront and its new fish market that has attracted crowds of tourists since its opening. Visitors to the souq will have the opportunity to sample the company's network while exploring the historic area and its highly popular museums. Tourists heading to Barka, Izki and other sites covered by the company can see and share some of the Sultanate's proudest monuments including the Barka Fort.
