Analysis and Overview



TASI remained strong throughout 3Q2017 as positive news flows, both politically and economically, kept the sentiment upbeat, however towards the end of the quarter investors opted to book profits which pulled down the index by 143 points at the close of the quarter. Moreover, international oil prices, which remained strong throughout the quarter, generally helped boost the sentiment during the period. Interest, though remained weak as average daily volumes on a Q/Q basis declined by 27.8% to about 114 mln shares.

Statistics For 9M2017:

At the end of the 9M2017 Tadawul All Share Index (TASI) closed at 7,283 points, increasing by 1,660 points or 29.5% over the same period of the previous year.
Total equity market capitalization at the end 9M2017 reached SAR 1,721 bln ($ 459 bln), increasing by 29.9% over the close of the same period last year.
The total value of shares traded during 9M2017 reached SAR 607.1 bln ($ 161.9 bln), decreasing by -29.2% over the same period of the previous year.
