Burgan Drilling, also known as Burgan Company for Well Drilling, Trading & Maintenance, has an impressive track record in the oil and energy industry. Burgan Company for Well Drilling was founded in 1970. It was subsequently listed on the Kuwait Stock Exchange (KSE) in 2005. The company boasts a paid-up capital of KD 24.9 million and a market capitalization of approximately KD 29.2 million (which translates to around US$ 94.7 million as of December 31, 2023). Burgan specializes in drilling and workover services for oil companies, both within Kuwait and internationally. Their activities include rig mobilization, drilling operations, rig moves, and well location management. Burgan Well Drilling places a strong emphasis on safety. Recently, they achieved remarkable milestones: 23 out of 25 operating rigs achieved Lost Time Injury (LTI) free status. 19 rigs maintained a recordable incident-free status. These achievements underscore their commitment to fostering a safety-first culture. Burgan partners with an Australian university in Kuwait to offer engineering student internships. The program provides hands-on experience through office support, site visits, and exposure to maintenance facilities. Notably, two interns were eventually hired as full-time employees, showcasing Burgan's dedication to talent development. Burgan Well Drilling actively engages with potential clients in Iraq, including Missan Oil Company (MOC), Cnooc, Sinopec, and IDC. Their proactive approach aims to collaborate on drilling and well services for major oil fields in Iraq, such as Amarah, Halfaya, Abu Chraeb, Majnoon, and Buzargan.
